Changing Locations Well, I think I’ve adjusted to being “on my own”. It’s a silly way to look at it, really – I’m in a city filled with people I know, and I’ve been reconnecting with lots of them. New York is an easy place for me to be – I know how things work here, getting around and finding stuff to do is easy for me. I’ve avoided being on a schedule, instead just sleeping as long as I want to, going to the gym, and making plans as they come to me.

Monday night found me having a leisurely dinner with my good friend, Molly. We worked together for years, and have traveled all over. It was so great to connect, face to face, laugh about old work drama, catch up on all the people we both still know, and toss ideas off each other about what the next step for each of us is.

Josh's Birthday!Gary and Rob Tuesday day was spent with Josh, for his birthday. We bummed around, goofed off, and didn’t really do anything. Which, I guess, is what he wanted for his big day. That night I met up with my friends Rob and Gary for dinner at Cafe Florent, which is closing at the end of the month. It was good to get in there one more time. From there, they insisted that we go get cupcakes at Billy’s – which I’m SURE added 10 pounds to me, but were totally worth it. I left them and met up with Jen in the Lower East Side, where we had drinks, and caught up on more work stuff.

Luigi and his Bubble Tea Today (wednesday) I finally went back to Curious Pictures, where I worked for 6 years. There aren’t many familiar faces there anymore, but it was good to see the few I did know. It was strange to be back there – everything felt the same, yet totally different. I can’t think of another way to describe it. Luigi and I went out to lunch, where he caught me up on everything that’s been happening there for the past few years, and then he convinced me to get bubble tea with him. I don’t know why I said yes, but I learned that I still think bubble tea is gross.
